Tobias  Dornbusch, our Product Expert, has returned from Broadcast Asia 2024!

Ferncast proudly showcased its innovations at our dedicated stand within the Broadcast Communications International hall, thanks to our key partnership in Southeast Asia.

At the event, Tobias presented aixtream, our flagship product. aixtream is a cutting-edge, 24/7 audio software solution designed for OTT, DVB, SIP/WebRTC, STL, DAB, FM, logging, recording, and more. Continuously developed and improved by Ferncast, aixtream offers versatile deployment options, including server appliances, virtual machines, and containerized solutions on AWS and other cloud services.

He showcased there some exciting new developments:

• immersive audio: aixtream, our software solution support Dolby Atmos experience for web streaming and podcasting.
• music scheduling: Ferncast expands aixtream with features for processing and encoding of music playlist scheduling (i. e. from MusicMaster).
• loudness control: Ferncast developed the next generation Loudness Control (ngLc), one of the most refined normalization and loudness adjustments algorithms yet.

We also announced the launch of the new fernReport for the Asian market on the 1^{st of} June 2024. This next generation reporter codec designed for audio reporting in the field, live sports commentary and any use case that profits from portable audio codecs with on-device controls and monitoring. It is a compact portable reporter device which combines aixtream software and the new RasPad3, a portable Raspberry Pi Tablet.  With the new fernReport, Ferncast is entering the professional reporter market with a powerful software-based device offering the largest touch screen and all formats compatibility at a highly competitive price compared to the existing premium devices.

What differentiates the new fernReport with what is available in the market?

The new fernReport focuses on touchscreen controls and offers a much broader audio format compatibility compared to other devices in the market. It is much lighter and easier than classic hardware reporter codecs, while still offering the full suite of configuration and connectivity options. And all this with a more affordable price than the competition.
